Legal Career
I practiced litigation for 23 years in my hometown, New Orleans.
I worked at two well known law firms in the Greater New Orleans area:
  • Blue Williams.  This is where I started my law career after graduating from law school and worked until 2010.  Since then the firm has grown to be one of the largest in Jefferson Parish. The lawyers at this firm were incredibly talented and I learned a lot from them.
  • In 2000, the main client I worked with flied bankruptcy thus putting an end to all of the cases. I decided rather than learn a new practice that I would switch jobs. I was invited to join Simon, Peragine, Smith and Redfearn. This was a downtown New Orleans firm. I loved working with these lawyers and was honored to have met such fine attorneys. I could not have asked for a better place to work but at the end of 2013, I said my goodbyes and started helping lawyers rather than arguing with them.

Legal Placement
I began my career in legal placement and headhunting in January of 2014.
I started with an excellent search firm, Lateral Link, based in Los Angeles and concentrated on Louisiana and Texas. I realized quickly that I could do the work better on my own and thus began my own business in October of 2014.  So far, it's been an auspicious start and the work has been immensely rewarding as I continue to work with both lawyers and law firms. Each year, I continue to place more lawyers and grow the business. I love this work and really enjoy both working with lawyers looking for new positions and with law firms looking for new lawyers.

  • I graduated from St. Martin’s Episcopal High School in New Orleans
  • I earned a degree in Spanish from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. I spent my junior year abroad in Valencia, Spain and learned Spanish which I speak with fluency. Since then, I have learned to speak French and some Italian.
  • I graduated from LSU law school in 1990 and began practicing the same year, eventually becoming a member of both the Louisiana and Mississippi state bars.
  • I am a board member of The Alliance Francaise, The University of the South alumni board,  Friends of Music, a chamber music society in New Orleans, Ecole Bilingue, and an organization called The Spanish Society.

As a side hobby, I study and play classical piano music and also write a column for a local magazine, Inside New Orleans
(click here to see some of my work) and a national publication called The Local Palate. (click here for a glimpse of the magazine).

My experience, having practiced law for several years myself, allows me to understand both the lawyer and the law firm.

The world of recruiting is a joy to me and nothing makes me happier than placing a lawyer at a good firm and helping a firm find a good lawyer.  I have worked with both partners and associates. The tough part of the job is not being able to place every lawyer that comes my way. Supply and demand dictate most of the framework, however, I do my best to help as many as I can.
